We are delighted to share that Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas is among eight organizations benefiting from the generous grant funds awarded by the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner (OSBC). This funding will be channelled towards our mission of assisting those striving for self-sufficiency.
This year, the OSBC has allocated a total of $189,091 to these chosen organizations, all in support of promoting financial literacy education across the state. The OSBC Consumer Education Grant Program drives this initiative, funding projects that educate Kansas consumers and enhance money management skills.
Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas was awarded $20,000 and these funds will strengthen our efforts to help our clients regain stability and strive for financial independence. We mark this as an important step in addressing financial literacy and making a long-term, meaningful impact on the lives of the people we serve.
The OSBC goes beyond its primary regulatory role, ensuring the financial integrity of service providers, and simultaneously protecting and educating Kansas consumers. Interestingly, the grant funds arise solely from fines and settlements with regulated companies, thereby not utilizing any taxpayer funds.
We are immensely honored to be a recipient of this grant and are committed to utilizing these resources to deliver significant and measurable improvements in the lives of our clients. Understanding that the financial decisions made today can greatly impact our lives in the future, this funding will be instrumental toward our goal of financial education and towards ensuring that all Kansans are empowered to make informed financial choices for a brighter, more secure future.

As we look forward to translating this generous funding into meaningful action, we would like to reiterate our profound gratitude to the OSBC. Through partnerships such as this, we are confident in our ability to make significant strides in building financial resilience among Kansas communities.
