On January 7th, the Office of Young Adult Ministry hosted the Third Annual Father Kapaun Classic on the campus of Dodge City Community College. Thanks be to God for the great weather and the 30 players who participated!
Collectively, these disc golfers--ranging from literal first-timers to seasoned veterans--brought with them 3470 diapers and $160 in donations for Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas. [The registration fee for the Fr. Kapaun Classic Disc Golf Tournament was 100 size 5 or 6 diapers].
Father Ben Green shared a powerful story about Father Emil Kapaun's steadfast generosity and led everyone in prayer at the beginning.
At the conclusion of the tournament, prizes were given to the top four teams, thanks to sponsorships by Duck's Flying Discs of Wichita and Red Beard Coffee of Dodge City.
