Cultural humility refers to the practice of showing respect and openness towards other cultures and ways of life. This involves recognizing that we may not know everything about other cultures and being willing to learn from others without making assumptions or judgments.
As our world becomes increasingly diverse, cultural humility becomes an increasingly important value to uphold. Striving to be culturally humble can help us build stronger relationships with people from different backgrounds and prevent unintentional offense or misunderstanding.
We are thrilled to announce the Southwest Kansas Community Forum, presented by the Kansas Office for Refugees and Catholic Charities of Southwest Kansas in collaboration with Cornell University's Center for Cultural Humility. The forum is titled "How do we better engage and support refugee populations? Considering the potential role and value of cultural humility."
Join us on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 from 11 am to 12:15 pm via Zoom. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds to attend and participate in an open and respectful dialogue about cultural humility and its significance for engaging and supporting refugee populations.
